DESCRIPTION & APPLICATION

CONCRETE FORM & MOULD OIL

PEAK MOULD OIL is a release agent for the manufacture of concrete slabs and pre-stressed concrete. It is specially formulated to ensure clean release from steel, aluminum, plywood, or composite forms, ensuring a high-quality concrete surface finish.

BENEFITS

  • Can be applied with a roller or brush.
  • Excellent surface conditioning characteristics
  • Formulated to deliver clean concrete release
  • Apply easily even at temperature extremes

HOW TO APPLY:

PEAK MOULD OIL can be applied by spray, brush or by using a roller

  • For some surfaces, application by using a roller is the preferred method. The oil is used for coating the walls and floors of rectangular moulds before pouring aerated concrete.
  • Forms and moulds should be clean and reasonably dry for each pour and should be coated before the reinforcing steel is put in place.
  • In large-scale production it is recommended that a spray method be used to apply the oil.
  • It is desirable that a light coating be applied as a heavy coating allows the excess to run off and collect in the corners of the mould or any other niches, this run off will permeate the concrete.
  • When using a spray system to apply the oil, the spray lines must be regularly blown out and it is recommended that moisture traps be
    placed in the lines.

Note: If the reinforcing steel is accidentally coated with Mould oil, the steel may not bond to the concrete. Mould Oil on the reinforcing  steel should be removed with kerosene or other similar solvents.
